I have Houston driving permit, now i am in Dallas, do i have to get driving permit again for Dallas ?

Some one told me that if we moved from one city to another in a same state we have to take the driving written test again for the new place to get our driving license. Is that true?. Like i have my Houston permit and now i am in Dallas and planning to get my driving license, so do i have to give written test again in order to get my driving license of Dallas. Or the same one is gonna work.
