Why is college education going to be so expensive? My husband and I have been saving for both of our boys. We put away around $250.00 for them every month. I decided to calculate [using an online banking tool] how much we should be saving thinking we're probably on the safe side. I was very wrong. The financial planner said we should be putting away $700.00 [!] a month if we would like them to be able to continue on to a four year public college. I just couldn't believe it. How much are you saving for your child's college fund? I'm beginning to think we're going to be in a heck of a lot of debt when the time comes. I'm sure we'll gradually increase our payments but I'm really worried now! What are your plans for your children's college education? Do you have any tips on good investing tips to create larger college funds? Why does the cost of college education keep rising? Does it honestly cost 131,330.00 for a child to attend and get a good education?
What are some good Teaching Colleges that offer classes online? I want to get my education degree (already have a B.Sc.) but am currently living in a remote northern Canadian town. I would like to investigate some universities, american or preferably Canadian, that offer either part or complete bachelor of Education degrees online. Tips or Recommendations?
How can I find essay scholarships to help me fund my college education? I'm going into my freshmen year of high school, and get mostly As. I know what everyone is going to say. I'm "too young" to be getting into this right now, and i have "plenty of time" to do this in my senior year of high school. Well, I don't. I have friend (well, friend of a friend. I've never actually met her) who got most of her college education free, because when she was just starting high school, she applied for all the scholarships she could get her hands on, and by her first year of college, she had most of the costs covered. However, I'm having problems finding real scholarships online. Most of my search results come up with scams. Can anyone help me out here? Any REAL links to REAL scholarships pages, or search tips? Thanks in advance!
Tips on pulling an all nighter? Please respond tonight? I'm taking a pseo (post secondary education online) course, so basically I am taking a college course online during high school. I have 2 papers for this course due tomorrow that are no where near finished because I've been so busy with musical and my school work for high school (and I can't put off my high school work because I'm a senior and can't afford a grade drop). In general I don't usually get much sleep but am usually in bed by 12am and if I wake up I wake up and that is what usually happens. But I need to pull an all nighter tonight to get these papers done. When I am with friends an all nighter is easy but I can never do it on my own... I can't drink caffine because it gives me migranes (I know, weird but my doctor legitimately told me I'm not allowed to drink it because of she believes it is a cause to my migranes). Any tips on how I can do this without loads of caffine?
Scholarships, College, Life, Stress, Money.? I am a college freshman, finishing up my freshman year. I am frustrated. I feel like I just can't deal with everything any more. I am thinking about pharmacy school. I am attempting to finish my undergraduate degree in three years. At the end of this year I have 45 credits, at the end of my sophomore year, I will have 81 credits. In order to get my degree (which atm I am a natural sciences no preference major, narrowing it down to a few choices) I need 120 credits. I am taking summer classes online (6 credits) while working 30-40hr weeks (if I still have a job, which I need to continue my education). I am also planning on taking 6 credits next summer, which will leave me with 33 credits to complete within one year (16.5 credits per semester....) and if not, I am planning on finishing up those last few credits the summer after. This coming fall, I am doubling up on my second inorganic chemistry class and an organic chemistry class, along with three labs, a biological sciences course, and an honors undergraduate study with MRIs and the healthy human body along with 11 other students and professors. In a college of 40,000+ students, I am in the honors college of around 1200. Last semester I attained a 3.75 gpa, and this semester I've had 17 credits. (next: 6 creds this summer, 16 credits fall, 17 cred spring) I am a first generation college student, first generation american. My parents came to this country and have busted their butts for the past 20+ years to actually have something and have had to work harder than anyone I know. THey did not set aside funds for my college education, but have had well paying jobs (my parents joint income was around $120,000 although this has been fairly recent). We have three properties in canada, a cabin, and a property in arizona. we live in a moderately sized house in a good community. But money has never been laying around. My mother has made me feel like we have to watch every penny leaving me to have extreme anxiety when it comes to money. I would say we've never lived comfortably. My father lost his job around 2-3 months ago... its been hard for hiim to find another job let alone the pay he was receiving in what he was doing, but it's still not enough for me to qualify for financial aid other than loans (which my mother is extremely opposed to). Money is becomign very tight. My grandma lives with us and has cancer, so it adds on to the stress. My moms workplace has slowed drastically...she doesnt know if shes going to lose her job also. I work to help my parents pay for my education. As of right now, we have funds for the next semester (summer and fall) but im at a loss for what is next. My mother constantly tells me to apply for scholarships and I have applied for a few but have received none thus far. I am having extreme trouble finding scholarships and do not think I am good enough or have anything special about me to receive them, nor do I fall in the category of need based. I feel like I'm never good enough at anything I do and I have no one in this world that understands me. My parents appreciate me but they have no idea what I go through or even understand how hard I'm working (and I never feel i am working hard enough for them and I should be doing better). They think I'm ashamed to apply for scholarships, but the whole thing is that it is not as easy as they think. I wish i could get scholarships for my entire education so they wouldnt have to work as hard but I dont know how. I feel like im on the verge of breakdown. I have friends, and i have a best friend, but they dont understand me and they dont even know a portion of what im going through. Yeah itd be great to stay in school for 4 years but why should i waste my parents money in an additional year? I really really really need help and feel on the verge of a breakdown. Any words of wisdom would be helpful any tips, I appreciate it.

Lots of questions about obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering? Okay, I have an Associates Degree of Applied Science from ITT Tech, with electronic engineering being the main focus of my education. That was about 2 and half years ago, since graduation I've been working as an electronic tech for an oilfield company. Now, I want to go for my Bachelor's. 1st ?: How many more years of school will I have to attend to obtain a Bachelor's....2nd ?: Does anyone know if the credit hours I earned at ITT would count towards my education at another school.....3rd ?: Does anyone know if there is some kind of "refresher" when starting a Bachelor's program? I haven't really practiced all the math that goes along with electronics. 4th ?: Is it better to go to a University or a DeVry type school for my Bachelor's? I know for sure I would not be interested in an online college for more education, the reason I mention DeVry is because there is a campus about 20 mins away from my job. Thanks for answers, and any tips/ advice will be GREATLY appreciated
Chances to get into Berklee College of Music on flute? Hi. Well, I've been playing flute since 4th grade, piano since 1st grade, and singing all of my life. I didn't get very serious until middle school. On piccolo, I made my regional band and orchestra this year. I've done marching band and concert band, and my district band. I've played concerts with Johan de Meij and Colonel Arnold Gabrie, both times the piccolo player. I've played in my school's jazz band usually on piano, but lately on flute. I study with a private teachers separately for piano or flute. I only sing for fun and take vocal classes and am in my school's vocal groups, but that's just for fun. :] I learned how to play marimba this year too, and am picking it up fairly quickly. I'm an As and Bs student [Bs in math and science. D; What can I say? I'm not a fan of that]. I'm in the top ten percent of my class, and very active in my school's music department. Anyway, I was wondering how my chances were to get into Berklee. I'm hoping to go for Music Therapy and Music Education. :] I've looked online for anyone asking for questions like me, but not many were asking for flute and for Music Therapy/Music Education. Any tips to help me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Theory-wise I'm okay. I know basic theory, and have yet to take a theory class because of my school schedule. I'm probably going to take theory in my senior year since I can't next yrear, and I'm currently a sophomore.
So who here actually goes to or has gone to college? When I was in high school my teachers and guidance counselors encouraged me to go to college, get a degree in something so I can get a good job. But none of them made it clear that the average price of a bachelor's degree costs 60,000-80,000 dollars!! whaa! That's outrageous... How do people actually manage to stay in school? It's also a proven statistical fact that 52% of all incoming freshman will NOT graduate. Whether they flunk out, cant afford it anymore, they never have the time to finish, but yea that's a really big hole of debt right there ouch! ok so the average income for your highest level of education goes as follows: High School Diploma - $20,000/yr Associates Degree - $40,000/yr Bachelor's Degree - $60,000/yr Master's Degree - $80,000/yr Alls I have is a high school diploma, I'm 19 and I'm ready to move out of my house asap! I'm looking to get a full time job delivering pizza at domino's and get my own apartment. What I'm also gonna look into is trying to take online classes, but before I go to a very expensive school I want to start at a community college and get my English and math classes and stuff like that out of the way first, but the only way that will work is if I take community college classes online, hopefully it works. With community college you can get an associate's degree for probably alittle more than $3,000. Now that's a good price. Any tips anybody?
College Writing Help? My professor wants us students to write a weekly "Journal" which is something I dont thing I have ever done but the topic is "Anything college related or a college experience". It is not an essay just a Journal. I've already done 2. Let me know what you think. Also, if you did Journals in college. You have any tips in making this alittle easier? Journal #1 Since starting college, I have noticed how different it is from high school. In High school, students are labeled and stereotyped. Students are not treated as individuals. Rather, they form and exist in groups or cliques. While adolescence is a time when teenagers are supposed to be developing, they are affected by the unwritten rules of high school. There are certain things that are considered acceptable and unacceptable. These ideas can limit someone's freedom to be who they are. By law, it is necessary and to a certain extent, teenagers are forced to attend high school. There are rules and regulations which one cannot break, because there will be punishments for their actions. Most students do not take high school seriously enough; they go because they have to. They do not see it as a lifetime opportunity. In college, students are there because they are serious about furthering an education and achieving long life goals. A person has to pay for college. So, if a student does not live up to the expectations of college they know they wasted their hard earned money, or their parents. Since students pay to get into college they work harder than they did in high school. Also, students are not discriminated because they are outcasts, straight, gay, black, or white. They are the same as everyone else, an individual. Students are not here to gossip or judge others. We are adults. We have taken the first step to have a better earning potential, a fulfilling career, and a good life for our families. Journal #2 Enrolling into college was harder than I ever imagined. You have to do everything on your own. First you have to go to the enrollment office, wait in line, and enroll. Take a placement test to find out which classes you need to be put in. Go to student orientation or do it online for those of us who signed up late into the semester. See a counselor to find out what schedule fits you best for classes. Go to the business office and pay for your classes before they get dropped. Then, somewhere in the middle of all the chaos you have to find time to make it into the financial aid office so you can have some help in paying for the whole college experience. Not forgetting the fact that you have to buy your own textbooks, a calculator, computer, printer and all the other necessities you might need in college. Then, you have the agonizing worry if your going to do well or even fit in. It is something every student has to go through at one point at their college. Sometimes I think preparatory school never properly prepares you for the real world. Having to do everything on your own is a whole new experience and very overwhelming especially for freshmen. It is different because your no longer a dependent under your parents. Your on your own with your own life and problems. Mommy and Daddy are not there every step of the way to save you anymore. I suppose it all soaks in after a few weeks of school. Needless to say, the whole adventure will give you and insight of the real world and becoming an adult. Going through the enrollment process on your own will give you a boost of confidence to face other situations in your life.
Important Factors which Help in Identifying the Best MBA College in Delhi? A degree in Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is good only if it is from the best management institute that teaches the managerial brilliance and administrative cult to the students. However, with hundreds of MBA institutes coming up these days, it is not easy to identify the preeminent one. In Delhi itself, many MBA institutes have mushroomed in recent times. Some are online hubs while others are chic brick-n-mortar institutes. But, are they all worth the money you give for a good and coveted MBA degree? Here are some basic factors to help you in identifying the best MBA College in Delhi. Reputation and Brand Image You should choose the best MBA College in Delhi </a>that has earned a name for itself. In other words, the management institute should have an image of its own, a reputation, and a powerful brand. For instance, if you are looking for trade and related management, you would automatically think of Institute of Foreign Trade. If you are looking for honing your managerial skills in planning, you would naturally look forward to IIPM. Why is it so? – Primarily because, these institutes have build up a strong image for themselves. Their expertise in a particular sector has been highlighted so well in the market that youngsters don’t look anywhere but stick on to its name. Core Education To find out the best MBA College in Delhi, just check the teachers who impart managerial education in the college. Many management teachers have years of experience in the corporate sector. Some are erudite who have done years of research in management and corporate principles. The mode of teaching and its standard are also equally important. A best MBA college in Delhi would ideally invite guest lecturers for a certain period of time. During this time, students can think of their queries and get them clarified by the same lecturer. One-session meeting often becomes a burden for the students. Many institutes promote laborious learning of management. Some include only the superficial management rules. None of this work well in future as the students find these methods overwhelming to accept. Best MBA College in Delhi would seek students with certain amount of knowledge and acumen. Based on this standard, education should be carefully imparted to the students. Campus Jobs Getting a plum job that offers good pay and a satisfying work experience is a big factor that determines the best MBA College in Delhi. Placement jobs invited by the institutes must be equally reputed and branded company. Often, campus placement job is the first and last job of a student who has passed out from one of the best MBA Colleges in Delhi. In few years time, many alma maters become future holder of a prestigious company. Exposure Apart from wonderful teachers, a best MBA college in Delhi should also have up-to-date infrastructure and environment to help the students imbibe managerial tips and tricks. In this IT age, no institute can be successful without computers and the Internet. Books, CDs, and workshops too, matter a lot while selecting the best MBA College in Delhi. Price To get something as wonderful as a coveted MBA degree, one has to naturally give out a lot of money for it. The truth is that the couple of years of teaching in a management institute come with a high fee structure as well. However, keep in mind that there are many institutes who are there in the market to fleece you with your investment but give you nothing much in return. Don’t forget to ask students who have already studied in the MBA institute about the credentials of the faculty and learning that is imparted by it. Best MBA College in Delhi would clearly state how well its students have been fairing in the corporate world to help you make a clear decision right away.
Am I on track for getting into a good college? Okay, so I am a freshman in high school and i have huge aspirations. :P I tend to set goals for myself that others see as impossible... but that's just the way I am. i have put a lot of dedication into school and I am hoping to one day go to a great college to get a great education. So, first semester my GPA was a 4.75. I took three honors courses, and gym (required). English 1- 100 Geometry- 98 World History- 100 Gym- 100 (as of first semester, im ranked one out of 468 in my class) Now I am taking three honors courses and an elective medical science course (prerequisite) So far, here are my courses- Biology- 100 Medical Science-100 Algebra 2- 100 French1- 100 My school is the second in the state out of publicschools academically, so it isn't easy! I tookthe SAT in 7th grade for a talent search program and got a 590 in math, 625 in reading, 620 in writing and did very well on the essay (idk the exactscore) Then I participated in DUKE TIP that summer and took Anatomy and Physiology online. I got a 95% in the end. The following summer, I went to Duke Marine Lab and took Ecology, and this summer I was accepted to take Marine Biology. Through middle school I was top of the class and went to various academic ceremonies. I am a competitive figure skater and hope to be nationally ranked before graduation. I am in International Club, Science Olympiad, Operation Smile and various service clubs. I have a ton of community service... and I go on mission trips about once a year. I am white... and American... so no advantage there. I am also going to Boston for a medical camp this summer where I will visit and work at HarvardMedical School. I also do an internship at the hospital during the school year where I help out around the hospital... I come from a low income family, because my parents are divorced and I liveONLY with my mom, who makes verylittle money... (my dad is a doctor though) I also work sometimes at the ice rink coaching... sometimes, and will take it moreseriously as I get older. I will take either like all AP or do IB when I am a junior/senior (im undecided on which one) I also go to math state competitions, this year I went for algebra 2 and did very well and will progress hopefully onto nationals... On my PSAT i got a 190 (like a 1900 for sat?) I really am hoping to get to a good school... my dream is Harvard or John's Hopkins, I want to be some sort of doctor... maybe an internist or neonatalogist. Any tips? What else can I do? Do you think I will have a shot?
What to talk about in a date? I talked to her online almost about everything!? Hi, I am about to date a girl I like. We met in a class at college. We have talked online about everything for about 1 month. We spent almost 3-4 chatting about our education, dreams, ambitions, accomplishments, family, our jobs, and other things,. Every single thing someone would talk to in a first date. We decide to be friend first, that's why we never dated before. Now, we are moving towards closing the deal (relationship), but its kind of hard because we talked about almost everything. Its just a little awkward because I don't know what to ask/talk about with her, since we almost covered it all online. *we are meeting at a park.Date starts in just 10 hrs, Any tips? Advise? Thank You! I really appreciated!
college scholarships for ged students in florida? I made up my mind on going to college. I know I've gotten my butt into gear a little late, I'm turning 20 on the 15th, but I was wondering if somehow, I can take extra classes online or somewhere for free to raise my GPA before I take my GED test? you need a certain GPA and good transcripts to be eligible for a scholarship, which I do not have from high school because of bad attendance, and I know it would make my applications a lot more "acceptable." the best case is something free, like flvs.net, and something I can do at my own pace. I do believe that flvs does adult ed courses, but it says something about being home schooled or enrolled in a public school, and I work fulltime so I don't have the time to go sit in a classroom for 5 hours. and also, any tips for getting the best education that you can, will be accepted with open arms. (please, don't judge me for dropping out. i've learned what a big mistake that was already, and i'm trying to make that up.)
How does someone with no previous job experience write a resume? I want to start applying to jobs, and I tried to look up 'how-to-write-resume' things online, but all of the ones I found were mostly for people who already had previous job experience, or finished their education - or at least most of it. I'm a freshman in college and I've never had a job before. I need help in how to write a resume but I don't really know what to put it in. Any tips? Or a website that helps people like me on how to write resumes? To the first answerer, I clicked on the website you gave and um.. apparently it's 'unsafe'.. I have this "WOT" (Web of Trust), it's an add-on for mozilla firefox that tell how reliable and trustworthy a site is.. and the website you put is red, which means more-or-less, its risky/dangerous/not-a-good-idea-to-go-onto-that-website... but thanks for ur tip :)
Moving to NYC to attend college but living with gay boyfriend.? Hello all! So here's the deal, I'm planning to move this January to NYC, I'll be taking online classes for my second semester and working, when fall comes I'll attend Brooklyn College. Pretty sure my stuff should transfer. I live in a homophobic home, and in Flint, Michigan, which is essentially a waterhole. My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 months, I've visited him in NYC recently to make sure NYC is the kind of environment I want, and hell yea it is. NYC has the opportunities I know I need to do the things I want, especially dealing with comedy, film, education. My bf offered me his place one day when I said how badly I wish I lived somewhere else, and I accepted. He has roommates, and I'll be paying $200 a month. I know it is soon for my boyfriend and I, but I feel like because of roommates and school it would only be like we were living together when it came to be night time. We both know that we have to work for this, and we're comfortable with. So, does anyone have any advice on the matter? Tips? All is appreciated! Thank you!

My friend and I are both being laid off soon... she purchased an online 'degree'... but did not do coursework? I am a little miffed. She has been offered a position for an organization -- because she lied and say she has a 4 year degree. She is my age (40's) and her degree is backdated to seem like she got it years ago... no one is verifying anything except her current employment.. Doesn't anyone check the educations of older works anymore? She is a good worker and yes she will excel in this new position...so I am NOT about to blow her in... however, in this economy, and with me also looking for something next - I feel what she is doing in unfair... I at least have a legitimate 2 year degree - but that make no difference in the business world these days and no one will talk to me without a 4 year degree... (Our field is community service, not health or anything like that)... She is now telling me to fork over $ and she will get me my own degree. Its not super expensive and she said IF any employer checks, they can and will verify the degree. So, she says, unless someone does a thorough check, no one will know. I feel paranoid to do this, because honestly, I would always wonder, what if I do great and excel too and then get caught years down the road - how embarrassing that would be. The situation is she is going on to make 35K part -time and I will be making 10K on unemployment or be forced to work more hours for less money than I currently make... How often do employers check educational credentials - especially from older people who are not just fresh out of college. Is there a free way to do so. Also, tips for finding decent work without a 4 year? Please note, I am not trying to cause trouble for her - like me, she is a divorced mom trying to support her kids... and her time constraints prevent her from actually completing a legit degree... but is this fair to those of us who have the same skills and knowledge or am I just being bitter? Can;t she actually go to jail for this - then what would she do with her kids? I am envious AND worried at the same time...
Question for mechanic shop owners? If you're hiring a mechanic, would having formal education (career diploma, career school, trade school, etc.) in auto mechanics on somebody's resume be a big plus for them? Since I'm getting started as an auto mechanic, I have neither ASE certification (2 yrs required to be certified by ASE), nor a lot of shop experience (although I am going to pursue an internship here soon, which has already been offered to me). Would a formal education of sorts (online career school, "career diploma", etc.) be helpful in getting my foot in the door in the world of mechanics? Or would I be just fine in reading through a college textbook myself? I am good at self-learning, which is why I think knowledge-wise, I would do just fine with a good textbook and a cup of coffee (or... lots of cups of coffee!). Would it be worth it for somebody like me to spend an extra $800-1000 to go through an online program and walk away with a "career diploma"? Any tips or advise in getting started in the field would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!! Robert

Why do they rush to be in relationship fast? bad astrology signs: part 1? I am Sagittarius. I recognize my friends rush to be in relationship that. I wonder.. Their chemistry grows love later, they fade. Key point: Victim (age) & savior (age) First - (18) Libra man & (23) Capricorn woman met each other for two days later after I bring Libra to hostel. Capricorn lives alone in hostel, she attend the college. I hang out with them and my friends. I helped Libra a lot for direction. I gave him more fun for trip. Libra ignored me because Capricorn baited Libra 's attention for her talk because she doesn't like me and my friends to talk Libra. She is jealous. She cause Libra gave me bad attitude and rude. Two days later, They fell in love and had sex in his private room. They became relationship. Libra promise he will visit her in Christmas. Later three month later, They broke up which they are in long distance. Libra removed Capricorn from his facebook list. Second - Leo man (23) & Pisces woman (20) - Leo chatted with me. He asked me "Do you have boy friend?" then I said no. He turned to Pisces. "Do u have you boy friend?" Pisces said "No, I have never boyfriend." Leo looked shocked and told her "you are beautiful woman! How come you not have boyfriend?!" Few hours later, they are love chemistry for Pisces' birthday when they met each other one first day. They were in love quickly and had sex then are relationship. Leo visits Pisces every weekend for sex. they fade love and feel no feeling quickly. few month later, they become friends. Pisces find out Leo not tell her anything from his secret. she is mad and doesn't like him anymore. For reason, they not know each other a lot after they don't find their character yet. Third - Capricorn man(21) & Aquarius woman (20) met each other when i brought her to Capricorn's house for sleepover. It's Capricorn's birthday, Dec 28.I watched Aquarius starts to wrestle with Capricorn so much. She fascinates deeply Capricorn's cool talks, few hours later, she falls in love with him. she told Capricorn about her past bad situation with her family.Capricorn has understandings for her. New Year Eve, They hang out with me and friends. They flirt and laugh each other. Capricorn dates Aquarius on Jan 6th. She is jealous type person because she doesn't like him to talk his female friends about common interests. Later, They fight so much. Capricorn is more frustrated and unhappy than Aquarius. Look like Aquarius plays the game with Capricorn's mind. she wants him to focus her. If Capricorn talks female friends, Aquarius wants to kill them. Friday, July 13th (bad lucky) he broke up with Aquarius, He told her he has no feeling but he don't have told her since February. In fall, Aquarius attend to college as same as Capricorn. Capricorn asks Aquarius for dry sex but he pretends to tell her " I love you". he was using her. Aquarius believes him! They fade to use sight later. Have you been Emancipated? OR Lived in Seminole Suites (Tallahassee)? I've been researching emancipation for the past year and a half , and I'm finally filing for it next year at the end of April. I'm pretty sure, I will be able to prove that I can not only support myself financially, but show that I will be better off without being in the home. I really would only like answers from people who have been emancipated, but you can also answer if you absolutely know what you are talking about. Things I need to know: - Grounds you used to do emancipation - The process [set-up of the hearing; how they do it] - If one parent MIGHT contest it [although has a record of abuse claims against him/her which i will NOT bring up; simply mention as a fact.] - Likelihood of being emancipated - What they really base it on - Tips on what I should do in the process of emancipation - How long I have to move out of the parent's home if granted - How long it would take to be accepted, and how long it takes to go in effect - Would it be granted if you present that: + Moving to another city + Job secured [with hypothetical figures to show how I would support myself] + Proof of transportation + Apartment secured + School shown that I would attend + All research done in regards to moving, every single detail mapped out + Very mature + Seeking in the best interest of education; environment at the current house conflicting with successfully finishing school- to fullest ability + Letters from guidance counselors, people worked for, etc. saying what they see the situation as from the outside, and agreeing that emancipation would be best for me (in their own words of course) + Held a job before + Been in boarding school {proof of ability to budget- including letter from woman in charge who has seen me deal with the money I made} + Has had previous arrests, juvi time, but all in relation to problems with the issues in the house. Runaways on record, but completing last year of high school which is beyond doubt that could be done as well if I were not on my own. I will be 16 when filing. Please, if you do not have this information, do not bother to ask if I have other alternatives. Like I said previously, I have been researching this and every other option there was available to me [which most is not possible]. I do realize that going out into the world, on my own will be one of the most difficult things a person can do, and I do realize that I will be either working or at school and will have not much time for anything else in order to support myself. NOW- SEMINOLE SUITES - I see that you have to "apply" + Is it easy to get into? + Will they take me as an emancipated minor {with ability to enter leases and contracts} -I read some of those reviews about how bad it is, but I'm sure if I don't leave valuables in my room and don't mix too much with people, I will be fine seeing as I will either be at school or at work. I'm used to sleeping in the noise, hence the "paper walls." I don't mind the room mates (Boarding school), I am good with responsibility of upkeep area and I get along with people easily. - Do you have to be attending a COLLEGE in order to get in? Because I will be doing my senior year of high school first. Then, applying to colleges around that area. - Would I be able to get them to write a letter letting the judge know that I would have an apartment secure if I am granted the emancipation? - How long does it take to know if I am accepted/ how soon can I move in thereafter. - Am I allowed to choose someone else to move in with me as a room mate (18 years old) - Is there an age limit to living there (maximum age) - Must you be going to school in order to live there (friend will not be going to college yet- maybe online) - And anything else you want to tell me about that place THANK YOU FOR READING - SORRY ITS SO LONG. Well I would still make it with the minimum wage with some money to spare but it would just be EASIER if i had a job with more than minimum wage and yea, i need to get out [foster care, etc. has been involved wit this family for a long time n nothing can be proven how they want it, so I'm done with them.]
Who among us is tired of? 1. those who ask where to find jobs and yet no specifications on education, skills or location where they want to be employed? 2. those who ask where to find legit online "get rich quick" schemes and yet many times have these been reiterated that they are SCAMS and SPAMS? 3. those who ask interview tips and yet they don't know that they can search it all in the space above? 4. Those who are confused on what to chosse as a course in college yet have a standard criteria for a fixed salary knowing only that they can achieve only if they follow their interests in life? More to come because I always read so many questions yet they have been answered before?
Problem with teacher recommendation? Here is the problem, I am still in high school, but I am enrolled in a post secondary education. So I go to college and earn both high school credits and college credits. Therefore, I will be done with two years of college when I graduate. The problem is that I only have one professor that teaches me at the college because I am taking three online classes. I really do not have a good relationship with my professor, but I am going to stay after class every day and ask her question just so I can get closer. So can I still ask a teacher for a recommendation if I do not know her very well? Any other tips on asking for a recommendation?
Read my writing papers tell me if they sound good? The first 2 are journals and the topic is "a college experience" the last one is a summary and response based on an article of your choice. Tell me what you think. I just started college. I dont want to sound stupid. Also, students are not discriminated because of race, religion, or sexual orientation. First you have to go to the enrollment office and take a placement test to find out which classes you need to be put in. Summary: The article “12 Tips for Supporting a Loved One With Cancer,” explains ways to care and support a loved one you may have suffering the terrible illness of cancer. It explains thoroughly what to say and what not to say for example, say “I love you” a lot this helps your loved one know they are special and valued. Rather than saying “It’s going to be okay.” If only you know how many times a cancer patient hears that in what day you wouldn’t say it at all. When a cancer patient hears phrases like that, one of the first things they ask themselves is, “What if it’s not okay”, or “How do you know?” Although giving support to a loved one with cancer is not easy. Keep in mind that your strength will make them even stronger. Response: Being a daughter to a mother with breast cancer. I have really struggled in ways on supporting her. The reason being I have not personally had to battle cancer. So, I’m unable to to understand completely what she is going through emotionally and physically. My mother has a strong will, a fighter. She has fought cancer for 17 years now and I have been by her side the whole time. From experience, I believe this article has in very many ways helped me become a better supporter. For example, It helped me learn how to listen. Simply listening to someone with cancer may sound easy, but is often times surprisingly hard. We want to make things better, fix things. But a listening ear is often what “helps” the most. Needless to say, this article will give you very good tips on supporting your loved one through their often-lonely journey

What should I do about job-hunting? I need a job desperately. My mother had issues in her childhood and wasn't able to have a good education. Up until now, we've been receiving SSI benefits from my father's death. But since I've turned 18, they have stopped. We can barely afford to live with the most basic things now. I need a job, right now, and I was wondering if I could get some tips from anybody with the same experiences. I've never had a job before, so I have no experience. I'm pretty sure this will get me turned down from many or most jobs instantly. Especially with the job market the way it is. I've applied for a couple of places but most of them tell me to "apply online" though I have a feeling they don't even bother to check those applications. Nobody I have applied to in person has contacted me back. What places do you suggest a person like me, with no experience, could apply for and probably get hired? I do have my high school diploma, and I'm currently in college taking one course which doesn't inhibit the time I'd be able to work at all. Also, what suggestions do you have about resumes? What can I do to make myself look good? Should I put down things like my experience in high school with three years of computer classes? There aren't many data entry jobs in my area, but I think that's my only selling point... Also, I could use a little advice about managing stress. My mom can be pretty cruel to me at times, and in addition to feeling responsible about our bills by not having a job, she constantly pesters me about although I'm trying my best. I'm so stressed out, at this point I've almost come to a point where I think I can't get one because of the economy. I haven't been able to draw or write anything in days, I just think about jobs, jobs, jobs and stress all the time. Please give me some suggestions... thank you so much. Sorry, I'm from North Central Florida. :)

Chances at getting into UVM? (University of Vermont)? What are my chances at getting accepted at UVM? (I'm applying Regular Decision) I was born and raised in Vermont and still live here. My GPA is around a 3.3 on my high school's scale. 3.7 weighted. It would be higher but I struggled during my Freshmen year due to my Mom dying of Cancer. My ACT Composite is a 23 (low, I know). This year (Senior year) I'm taking: AP Literature an Composition AP Calculus AB AP Computer Science A Physics Film Criticism American Spirit Junior Year: Chemistry Driver's Ed AP US Government & Politics Pre-AP Calculus AB / Pre-Calculus Latin I Personal Fitness My Freshmen and Sophomore years I took the standard Math, English, History, and Science courses, I also took some Foreign Language, Gym, and Art courses. Throughout Freshmen and Sophomore year I took: Geometry, Algebra II, Earth Science, Biology, Global History, US History, Accelerated English 9 and 10, French II, Art I, Computer Animation I, Computer Animation II, Team Sports, Target Sports, Outdoor Education, Health I also took a college math course at UVM during the summer of my Junior Year (I took College Algebra). I should also get some raving recommendations from previous Math and Chemistry teachers. Additionally, starting in my Freshmen year, I got heavily interested in higher mathematics. I've since taught my self calculus (single and multi-variable), basic differential equations, basic chaos theory, etc. I believe the Co-Chair of the Math Department said he'd include this in my Guidance Recommendation. I also recently got interested in Representation Theory -- I've been doing some work in that. I had an ex-English Professor (not from UVM) read my admissions essay and she's made some suggestions -- so hopefully my essay will be in tip-top shape by the time I submit it. I have also been holding down a job at a local grocery store since early-2008. I have also taken two online courses at VHS (Virtual High School). What would you say my chances are? Thanks!
ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!??????????? I am writing to provide evidence that my 12/2008 scores that ACT received, was indeed a true testimony of my ability to perform at the college level. These scores reflect my independent abilities as well as work. The changes in my 10/2008 and 12/2008 scores were due to several unfortunate events, which took place during the time I took the ACT. There fore, the affect of these events were results of my lack of determination and of my later, refocused determination. I have always been a student, who main focus was education and attending college. Unfortunately, that same focus about education, in which I have always possessed, changed in one semester. Throughout my high school career, I have maintained being an honor roll student and keeping a decent GPA, which would prepare me to excel on the ACT. However, being that kind of student, as well as having to work a full-time job to help support my family, through our tough times, made this school year a very hard and stressful one. Besides, the financial issues I was dealing with, I was also force to deal with deeper family issues that haunted me on a daily basic. I was so preoccupy by my present struggles that I could not focus on the future, only the present and my current struggles. Nevertheless, getting a high enough score on 10/2008 was not a main goal of mine at that time. 10/2008 was the first time I had ever taken the ACT, I was nervous, after being told by my peers that if I did not pass the test, I would not be able to attend college, which I considered to be my only way out of my circumstances. My family and I are a close family, so after I learned that my disable aunt was very ill in September, I begun to add more stress to my already stressful lifestyle. I did not care about being successful or being a college graduate. Stress had over taken my life, and it affected everything I tried to accomplish. After my aunt died in October, I would wake up every day, not believing I would make it to the fall, where I would be a freshman at NSU; I didn’t see myself making it to the New Year. In addition to my non caring, attitude and stress, my academic performance had decreased beyond repair for the first semester, hurting my GPA. Next, would follow the day that I would have to take the test that would determine my future destiny. The night before the test, instead of getting a good night sleep, like I had learned to do the next time I took the test in December, I went to a party and did come return home until 4a.m. The following morning I woke up late, and rush to my testing center, where as soon as we begun testing, I fall asleep. I didn’t bring a calculator for the math section, nor did I bring a pencil to complete my test. On each part of the test I had to rush just to complete it before the time was up. I was not prepared to be successful on that test, because my mind was clouded with my issues as well as my lack of preparation. When I received my scores from the 10/2008 test it was an eye opener, because these scores did not match my accurate knowledge on the subjects being tested. I knew I had to refocus and regain my determination if I wanted to succeed, through my journey in life. After some deep soul searching and praying for understanding, I finally accepted my aunt’s death, as well as accepting that my circumstances were only temporary; I still need to look towards the future. Next, I became more focus than ever to increase my scores so I would be able to attend college, and improve my academic grades that had already been damaged due to my lack of focus. I began to see things in a whole new light, and with only a little less than a month I made a promise to my aunt. I promise I would make her proud of me, so I began to right my wrongs. My mother brought some ACT prep books (The Princeton Review-Crash Course for the ACT and The Real ACT Prep Guide) to help me study in my weak areas such as English. However, I did not need to focus that much on Math or Science because I am quite strong in those areas. I took a few practice tests on the computer, and one a local library, so I would be prepared on the 12/2008 test. Several of my friends and I would meet up and work on challenging questions and review each others weak areas. On the ACT website, I brought the helpful ACT Online Prep Program and I read the ACT helpful tips where I then became familiar with the break down of the test. I would review the ACT Online Prep daily, as I gained the confidence that these test scores would reflect my true knowledge. That confidence would prove, that if I worked hard to put aside my current struggles that I could beat the odds that were against me during the first school semester. On the 12/2008 test, I was ready and motivated to be successful; I woke up at 6a.m. to began to get ready for the test that I had been preparing for weeks. I had a calculator and two pencils that I would need for the math section, unlike last time. I ate at good breakf

Andrew Romano New Supporter: Obama with Lewis. Photo: John Amis/AP. On Wednesday I wrote that "depending how March 4 shakes out, [the Potomac Primary] results--and the likely Obama wins in Wisconsin and Hawaii--may help determine the Democratic nominee by the ides of March." My thinking went like this: After eight (and maybe 10 straight wins), the Illinois senator will lead at that point by more than 100 pledged delegates--but it won't be enough to reach magic number (2,025) by the end of primary season in June. Looking ahead, the 400 uncommitted Democratic superdelegates--the only people with the power to put either Clinton or Obama over the top--will have a choice: 1) prolong the contest through the convention, ensuring a messy, divisive battle involving Florida, Michigan and back room wheeling and dealing or 2) move en masse to the "people's choice" and get busy uniting the party for November. But is Obama's tipping point coming sooner than even I expected? Yesterday afternoon, the New York Times (among others) reported that Rep. John Lewis, an elder statesman from the civil rights era and one of Hillary Clinton’s most prominent black supporters, is suddenly planning to cast his vote as a superdelegate for Obama in" hopes of preventing a fight at the Democratic convention." “In recent days, there is a sense of movement and a sense of spirit,” said Lewis. “Something is happening in America, and people are prepared and ready to make that great leap.” Hungry for news on a slow day, the media responded with typical breathlessness. "Floodgates could open," wrote Time's Mark Halperin, a reliable peddler of Beltway CW. "If Lewis breaks away, take whatever you thought Clinton’s chances of winning the nomination before and divide that number by as much as two — those would be the odds of her winning now." Whoa, nelly. Not so fast. Sure, Lewis's "defection" is significant--but in a limited sense. For one thing, it's not really a defection; instead, Lewis is still endorsing Clinton (for the time being) but promising to cast his superdelegate vote at the convention with his Atlanta-area district, which voted three-to-one for Obama--if it comes to that. Lewis's confusing stance symbolizes a very specific political challenge facing black elected superdelegates--and black elected superdelegates only. If Obama maintains his lead among pledged delegates, members of the Congressional Black Caucus who have endorsed Clinton will face enormous pressure to switch sides. Like Lewis, many represent districts where Obama earned 85 to 90 percent support among black voters--meaning to defy their constituents and cast a vote that lots of people would see as stealing the election from the first black president would be tantamount to political suicide. Advertisement Over the past few weeks, there's been a slow drift of superdelegate support from Clinton to Obama. Not counting Lewis, Obama has gained 12 superdelegates since Feb. 5, while Clinton has lost a net of three. But until we start seeing a greater number of pols making the leap to Obama without such political pressure, I think it's a bit early to say the floodgates have opened. It may happen; it may not. But any potential tipping point is still a ways away. Featured, Barack Obama Permalink: http://www.blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/archive/2008/02/15/obama-s-tipping-point-not-yet.aspx Sphere It! Offense Taken In this campaign, there is no room for remarks of any sort on any subject. - By Michael Kinsley Commentsscschmidt wrote: Michael Kinsley's article, "Offense Taken" is way off base. The example that he cited are based on relationships, yes- whether they be a cousin or a hairdresser. However, the GREAT BIG DIFFERENCE is that when someone goes out of their way to verbally expound the degree of influence that someone has on you as well as when you tout this person as a role model or "mentor" - well now this is VERY dofferent. By doing this, you indeed are connecting yourself to this person in every way since you indicated that their beliefs were used to mentor and foster your own beliefs. When you look up to someone as a mentor or role model, you are believing in the basic principles of theirs. Obama's open statements to th ereverend being his spiritual mentor and best friend makes his beliefs as suspect as the reverend's. In addition, Obama can now denounce all he wants to but how could he be a parishioner for 17 years and listen to these types of statements if as Obama NOW states are "outrageous"? I think that we need to realy questiob Obama's truthfullness or question his judgement. In either case, the country should seriously reconsider any support for such a candidate. It is frightening that Obama's paltform really emphasizes "change" and his real agenda would seem to indicate other. We need to change our support to Senator Clinton and assure her success in November. 3/17/2008 9:05:12 PM Recommend (0) Report Abuse Discussion Policy LISANROY wrote: amemended comments of dr kamal roy dt 3,17,2008 LISANROY wrote: COMmENTS OF REV DR KAMAL KARNA Karuna ROY A REPUBLICAN CANIDATE AND HoPEFUL TO BE the NOMINEE OF GOP IN SCHEDULED ELECTION FOr NOV 4, 2008, IF BE HELD WITHOUT any COURT ORDER OF INJUNCTION to postpone corrpt election as PRAYED BY DR kamal k k ROY ALLEGING SKY_HIGH AND CLOUD_DARK CORRUPTIONS BY DEFENDANTS IN CIVIL ACTIONS FILED IN 20+ U S D COURT actions in 20+ different JURISDICTIONS with allegations against defendants for negligence to enforce laws not TO PUSH OUT ELECTORAL CONTESTANTS FROM WEAKER COMMUNITIES OF HAVE-nots 3/17/2008 9:04:05 PM 3/19/2008 9:47:32 PM Recommend (0) Report Abuse Discussion Policy rayacop wrote: Denice1 What you have to understand is what Dr. King and Malcom X came to understand before they both were assassinated, one by radical whites and the other by equally radical blacks, the root evil and problems in American transcend race and are more socio-economic in nature, just reflect to what when on in this country before the enslavement of blacks. They actually had white slavery in this country and it was called indentured servitudeand it actually ussually lasted for life instead of the historically porported 7 years and children of indentured servents were born into servitude. They main reason slavery came about was because the flow of indentured servents was drying up. As far as experimenting on citizens, this government has routinely experimented on its own soldiers of all races and even set off A-bombs upwind of cities in this country well aware of the effects of radiation. It is all about economic disparaty, and that is the reality that King amd Malcom X came to realize. 3/19/2008 9:47:07 PM Recommend (0) Report Abuse Discussion Policy LISANROY wrote: COMMENT OF REV DR KAMAL KARNA ROY A REPUBLICAN HOPEFUL TO BE NOMINEE OF GOP SINCE THE HUMAN_GODS OF REPUBLICAN PARTY IS TRYING TO MANIPULATE GOP NOMINEE TO BE JOHN MCcAIN BUT DR ROY ALLEGED IN THE U S D COURT IN ED NEW YORK AT BROOKLYN, N Y 11201 THAT MCCAIN WITH FELONY ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HIM IN MCcAIN_40+ YRS OLD SMART BEAUTY AS LOBBYIST-PAXTON EPISODE WHERE CLOSE COMPANIONHIP WAS ESTABLOISHED, FREE USE OF AIRCRAFT BY MCcain, aircraft owned by paxtons , mccain wrote two letters to illegally intervene usual process, 40+yrs_smart _beauty was used for female sweet companionship of elderly and aging mcCAIN, THEN HOW WAS MCCAIN INNOCENT OF A FELONY CRIME FOR INFLUENCE PEDALLING :: AS SUCH MCcAIN FATE IN PRESIDENCY IN 100% IN JEOPARDY, DR ROY DEMANDED TO BE NOMINEE IN THE jUNGLE DEMOCRATIC ENVIRONMENT OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IF BE HELD ON TIME::: COMMENT OBAMA IN FACT NEVER LEARNT TO BE TRUTHFULLY MANIPULATE RACE RELATIONSHIP IN BETWEEN THE 65 5 white majority vs about 15% blacker or african-AMERICAN COMMUNITY.
